In the installation “Secret Conversation”, Clémentine de Chabaneix seeks to evoke the duplication of the body and mind during a dream : “Body and mind no longer consult, but remain linked together”. A woman levitates above her bed, without moving. Around her, images like shadows appear and vanish. These images, like ideas during a dream, are not related to each other. They follow each other, combine or contradict themselves and form a language that neither the body nor the conscience contest. A soundtrack evokes the presence of the body, through concrete sounds (slow breathing, crumpled fabric…) and evokes the language of dreams with abstract sounds (repetitive, hypnotic, distorted everyday sounds…). A scene that we can observe as if we were breaking in…

A boat crossed by a tree, which Clémentine describes as a tribute to her father. This boat on which stands a tree in peril, expresses in the ambiguity of its state, the strength of resistance of life against oblivion and death, in the crossing of the last river, Styx or Lethe. On the other side, metamorphosis, renewal, youth and dreams.
